Fiesta Mexicana

Sawyer's party was Friday and we threw a Mexican fiesta complete with mariachi music on the speakers, Mexican food, a pinata, and over 75 balloons strewn around the living room floor and floating in the air! Landon even made me get the balloons in the colors of the Mexican flag =) Ironically, Sawyer was only joined by his brother, his cousin Isaac, and his friend Alyx, but all of the adults enjoyed the party just as much.

Opening presents was a group occasion of course.

He needed some help with the candles and Trenton was eager to respond.

"Sawyer, what are you eating?" "Cuck-cake!"

The pinata was especially funny to watch. When we first handed Sawyer the bat and told him to hit the swinging thing, he looked at us like we were crazy. I could just imagine his thoughts - don't I get in trouble for hitting?? Once he understood the game, though, he had a blast swinging wildly at it. Trenton didn't really care to try, but Isaac and Alyx took turns and loved it. Then the dads got involved and helped with aim and force to actually break it apart. Once again, having never done a pinata, the kids weren't sure what to do when all the candy fell out! It was hysterical as all the adults are yelling, "look candy, run and get it!"As soon as they understood, though, there was no stopping them. I don't even know how many pieces of candy my two boys ate and it's probably better that way . . .

The next morning, the fun continued as the boys played with all the new toys and all the leftover balloons still lying around the room.

Sawyer's favorite was his Diego mylar balloon that still had enough helium to float.

Sawyer telling me and "showing" me how old he is.

As the morning progressed, we lost clothes somehow =)

One happy 2 year old!
