We met his teachers Miss Tammy and Miss Brittany today at the house. Miss Tammy has been teaching for 22 years and totally loves her job, you can tell. Miss Brittany is only 19 and a student at NIC pursuing a child development degree so she's partnering with Tammy to learn how to teach. Trenton was super excited for their arrival, but as soon as the doorbell rang, he became Mr. Shy. It took him a bit to warm up and talk to them, but by the end of the visit he was showing off his raggedy penguin he sleeps with every night and all his toys. I'm very impressed with the school. They bought a new handwriting curriculum this year, which looks outstanding, and his day is from 9 to 1, which is longer than most preschools I found. He gets to pack a lunch everyday, which also means we get to go shopping together and pick out a fun lunch box! I can't help but get excited when I see his enthusiasm and how fun his teachers are.
As if to proclaim the fact that he is truly growing up, he's had some funny moments lately that I want to record.
While camping, (which I will post about later!) he was riding the boat with Caitlyn and looked up at her out of nowhere and said, "My girlfriend has that bathing suit."
I still laugh just writing about the story. He then proceeded to fill Aunt Cait in on all the details. His girlfriend is 15 and he gets to see her on Saturdays and Tuesdays, but only after her dad finishes the boat he's building her. The best part is he is always sure to clarify that she is just his pretend girlfriend.
Ok good, because I was concerned. =)
And, for the perfect punchline to this post, at lunch today Trenton grabbed his dad's coke, took a sip, and then turned the can to the side exclaiming, "Aww man, there's 91 calories in here!"
