The night before her birthday, Elliot got a second wind around 9 PM and I finally gave in to the chatting, giggling, and screaming and got her out of bed. She had stripped off her pajamas, thrown everything to the floor, and basically decided it was her last night as a one year old and she was not wasting a minute of it! We hung out in the playroom and practiced her "I'm 2" sign while her brothers played video games.
Well, a month later, we finally got around to the celebration, Frozen style of course.
So of course, the princess needed a tiara and a sparkly skirt to compliment her bathing suit. Thank you Dollar Tree for this adorable ensemble.
Unfortunately, while her party-goers made "snow" and snowmen...
she was fighting an allergic reaction to sunblock, resulting in red splotchy skin and swollen eyes.
Thanks to a friend's advice to try a few drops of milk to soothe her eyes, she was able to join the party again just in time for presents.
"Excuse me Liam, is this your party?"
"Oh fine, you have permission to be in my picture."
"For me?!"
The Birthday Princess adorned by her Royal Cape
Happy Birthday to my precocious, little spitfire, the size of a baby chimpanzee with the screech of a howler monkey. Your antics bring a smile to my often chaotic day, whether you're spontaneously belting "Let It Go" with a quivering head and furrowed brow ... clenching your fists, growling "Hulk Smash" as you jump into a crouching monster ... picking out mismatched socks to put on, while refusing to take off your Frozen pajamas until distracted with a brand new skirt... busting out with a belly laugh at "NeeNee" (Trenton) or one of your other "brubbers" who curiously have no name ... You are inquisitive, opinionated, loud, and demanding, but then you plead "hold you" with the bluest of blues gazing into my very soul and cuddle into my neck with the most tender grip and all I can remember is how much I love you.
