Trenton's Third Birthday (Part One)

Trenton David Anderson is now three years old. This year he actually got the concept that it was his birthday and that his age was changing. Now if you ask how old he is, he can tell you three, whereas it took us probably six months to teach him he was two =) On Friday the 10th, we had his party at Freestone to ride "Pomas the Crain" as he calls it and hang out with our close friends and family. Trenton and Sawyer rode with Mom-mom and Popum on the train and as they pulled out, Trenton said "c-ya mom!" and then proceeded to say it to everyone they passed on their ride: "c-ya girls" or "c-ya boys." He loved the idea of riding away on the train, leaving everyone else in the dust!

Then we had a Thomas the Train cupcake cake (ingenious idea some came up with so you don't have to cut the cake!!) When we all started singing, Trenton ducked his head and rested it on his hands, embarrassed by all the attention. It was so adorable and funny at the same time. He kept glancing up through his lids to see if everyone was still looking at him. Then he blew (and spit!) out the candles, but had to get help because I was mean and bought the ones that flame back up.

Besides the train and the cake, Trenton also loved the ride on cars, even though we never put any money in to make them move! Here he is with his brother in their matching hats - one of my favorite pictures from the night:

And this one is a perfect portayal of their personalities - Trenton is taking his job as driver very seriously, while Sawyer is just having fun enjoying the ride =)

Of course, the night didn't end there. When we got home, we had to let him play with his presents! He asked to watch his new Harry Potter movie immediately and then played with his new truck and Thomas the train while Harry played in the background. I don't think a three year old could have enjoyed a birthday more than he did!!
