Sunday was our day for Glacier National Park; it was sunny and breezy and perfect.
When we took the required family picture by the park sign, Trenton said, "We're here? Where's all the equipment??" He and Sawyer couldn't understand how we could call it a park when it obviously wasn't!
While Landon frolicked with the older boys and I tried to capture every moment on the camera, Kellen rambled around with his pal Grandpa.
We were only able to drive 16 miles up the mountain because it's so early in the season, but we stopped at every opportunity to explore the beauty.
"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities -his eternal power and divine nature -
have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made..." Romans 1:20
It was a glorious day in nature and I am so thankful our country has used resources to keep these parks separate and protected for our enjoyment. After a picnic lunch by Lake McDonald, we drove back to the cabin for a relaxing night together. We explored the lodge some more ...
... played soccer, badminton, baseball, and horseshoes in the common area with a snack of wine and cheez its =)
Then I tried to take some pictures of my beautiful boys because I was so overcome by the blue skies, green grass, and rustic setting. Trenton did pretty well ...
Sawyer couldn't stop laughing and grinning and was definitely the most patient with all my moving around. He takes such incredible pictures!
And then there's Kellen lol oh dear. I crouched by him for five minutes, calling his name, and got ten pictures that look exactly the same:
We ended the weekend with smores, a rite of passage for every camping trip. I love Kellen in the background here, sneaking a marshmallow!
Sometimes a candid photo speaks volumes; I love this one!
Endings are always sad, and it was especially hard because we had to say goodbye to Mom mom and Grandpa as well. Luckily, we get to see them in five weeks when we travel to Arizona!!
