The First of ... Four

Unlike my childhood, the Coeur d' Alene school system celebrates graduation from Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School and High School!

Trenton graduated from Kindergarten on Thursday and I have to say the last day was definitely not as emotional as the first. There was such an atmosphere of pride and celebration and excitement for the coming summer. Unfortunately, the ceremony was at 1:00 so Landon couldn't go. Sawyer and Kellen were my dates and they sat so big and tall in their own chairs waiting for it to start.

Then suddenly, Sawyer's face lit up and I turned around to see Aunt Caitlyn entering our row! She had driven from Montana that morning to surprise us at graduation. Trenton did a double take when he walked by in line and saw her sitting with us. His grin was reward enough!

The school did a great job keeping the ceremony cute, but short. They sang 3 songs, recited the school motto, and each received a certificate of completion. Plus, they wore adorable handmade mortarboards that looked like rulers with a paper apple for a tassel.

Here he is grabbing his certificate from his teacher Mrs. Miller.

Then we finished the day with cookies in his classroom, a final story time with Mrs. Miller, and the last hugs goodbye for all his new friends.

Goodbye Hayden Kinder Center!
