Wolf People

Before Caitlyn moved to Arizona, we visited a placed called "Wolf People" about 45 minutes away from Coeur d' Alene. A woman started it as a way to educate people about wolves, especially with the hunting culture up here and now she has 40 some wolves. You get to stand right up to the cage watching them and they are just beautiful! It's neat to see the relationship they have with their caretaker too. They would jump up with their paws on the chain link fence trying to kiss his face and whining like dogs, they were so excited to see him.

This female was really funny. She saw Caitlyn pick up Kellen and she started running around crazy and whimpering. Our tour guide said it's mating season and she's getting ready to have babies, so she was reacting to Kellen as a baby. "Basically, he said, "she thinks she's a better mom than you are." How funny is that?! She even recognized this baby in another species.

At the last cage, he let us pet the wolf because she was the friendliest. And she was such a cuddler! She kept walking back and forth along the fence loving the touch and attention.

Then right before we left, he gave a signal and the wolf closest to us started howling! Within seconds, all of them joined in and the sound was unearthly. They all sounded a little different and the blend was incredible.

The whole thing was amazing and I'm glad the boys could experience it.
