Sawyer just turned six and had maybe the best birthday yet. Landon has one complete month of no school all year for the three years of his masters, meaning we cram every summer activity into one month! Sawyer's birthday was July 28th... 3 days before the month of FUN.
The morning of his birthday, he crawled out to the couch and fell back asleep. We were so excited, we woke him up, squealing about turning six!
Then, of course, there was breakfast at Le Peep with a song and a birthday pancake to share.
Next came presents from Mom mom and Grandpa. The box had been sitting in our room for a week and he patiently walked by it every day just to look.
That night, instead of dinner out, I asked Sawyer for his favorite home cooked meal. Surprising both of us, he picked eggs and bacon! I would have never guessed. Yet another thing to record over the years.
Poor Kellen wasn't tall enough.
Then we moved on to the bumper boats. All three boys were thrilled at the start.
After getting wet, only Trenton and Landon thought it was fun. Sawyer was in tears.
I started thinking we had picked the wrong activity for our new six year old. When I voiced this, he sweetly responded, "no mom, I still love it." Ever the sweet one, he can't stand for anyone to be hurt or upset.
Next was an hour in the arcade, winning tickets, and going home with spider rings, yo yo balloons, and slinkys. I had to fashion "ear muffs" for Elliot with all the noise. I guess I'm getting old; it was SO loud!
Finally, we ended with Baskin Robbins ice cream, sitting outside in Adirondack chairs. And with the coupons I'd been saving, the whole night cost less than dinner at McDonalds! Woo hoo
There was miniature golf...
... carnival rides (some of them a little small haha) ...
... a carousel ...
and an IMAX theater included in the pass. We packed a picnic lunch, which even included a birthday cake with candles to blow out.
All 3 boys fell asleep on the car ride home. What a perfect day to celebrate our middle boy.
The boy who sat naked on the bathroom scale to weigh his
butt. The boy who ran to Trenton when I asked if he liked Hulk or
Spiderman the best and then said the same answer. The boy who baby talked to Elliot during breakfast while sticking
his feet in her face and shouting, look she's grabbing my feet! The boy who
asked how many days in a year and then exclaimed, wow that means in 3 years its
in the thousands. We are so blessed by your goofiness, your loyalty, and your
logic. Love you JuJu.
