The Anderson happenings

We had Sawyer's one year appointment late because our pediatrician was out of town, so I'm just now posting the details. He is 22.4 pounds (only 2 pounds gained since his 9 month and frankly I was shocked with the way he eats!) and 32.3 inches (almost 3 feet!!) which is 97th percentile. I'm guessing our two boys will be passing Landon in height if they continue on this path =) He is mimicking our speech more and more and walking everywhere. Trenton wasn't walking confidently until 14 months, so Sawyer beat him by two. But then again, Trenton didn't have an older brother to chase or be chased by -- definitely a motivating factor. Here's a video of his walking; it's right after bathtime, so he's just in a diaper and you can see how little of a buddha belly he has left!!

As for Trenton, we have started potty training! Monday was day one. Right when he woke up, I put underwear on him and started the process. At first, I had to hold him on the toilet crying. I would count out loud to 60 and let him off. By midday, he was at least sitting on it without an armed guard holding him there, but he wouldn't pee. I had cleaned up two accidents and I was getting frustrated. I kept reminding myself it was day one, but I wondered why the heck he didn't get it and what was so hard?!?! Landon got home just in time for accident #3 and got a taste of my whole day. We put him to bed without one success. Today was day #2 and it started out with two more accidents. I was beginning to doubt my aptitude for parenting and wondering if I should give up and let him be a five year old in diapers ... and then it happened. I left him alone in the bathroom for 30 seconds and came back to some yellow in the bowl!!! This may be TMI for those who haven't experienced potty training, but for those who have played the game, you know how exciting it really is =) So, we're still using the timer to go every fifteen to twenty minutes, but at least he gets the concept now.

Besides that milestone, we are also enjoying his expanding vocabulary and expressive manner. One of the funniest lately was when he climbed in a ride on car and said bye, see ya! I was like, do I ever say the phrase see ya?! He is also very concerned about his brother and always asks us to give "Bob" whatever he's having, so he'll say Bob have some milk too-ooo in this cute questioning voice. And I am proud to say, when asked where mom is, he now says Starbucks instead or work =) I took a pretty long video of him reading with Aunt Caitlyn while she was here, so don't feel pressured to watch it all. It is for me to look back on when my baby is out on his first date and for my out of town family who miss out on the small moments like this ...

Do you think Sawyer can come over and teach/encourage Aaron regarding the joys of walking???!!! =)

Thank you! And good luck to you with that quest as well! It is so hard to find time and get motivated to workout but of course, since I am paying for a gym, I'd better use it! :) What gym are you going to go to?

I do the same thing when I DO drink something...I add up all the calories so I know when I need to stop! :) I have been wanting to take Andi to BounceU because I keep hearing it is so much fun! Would you be interested in meeting up there one day for the kids tp play? I would love to get together again. :) Berkley is in school now all day so I just have Andi...it is so weird to only have one child. But its nice.:) I could do a Tuesday preschool session if thats a day that works for you? Andi has therapy on fridays and I work on thursdays and I think thats the only days they have preschool there. what days do you work?
