Happy Thanksgiving!!

Our best friend Jesse, who we met at NAU, came all the way from Alaska for Thanksgiving. We hadn't seen him since Kellen was born so it was really exciting for the whole family. It also meant I had to cook my own Thanksgiving dinner for the first time! Thankfully Jesse did the gross part for me.

The rest of the week was spent exploring beautiful Coeur d' Alene. We were blessed with a break from the rain and got to do a lot of outdoor activities. Landon and Jesse hiked Tubbs Hill by the lake and Canfield Mountain, where you can look down on all of Coeur d' Alene. Plus, we all explored Farragut State Park, which is where we hope to camp next summer right by the lake.

We visited the Falls in Post Falls, where Landon teaches. We've lived here for two years and never been to see them. It was a really cool sight.

And with Jesse there, we got a great family picture. If I had had the energy this year to do Christmas cards, this would have been the picture =)

Then we drove up to the top of Schweitzer Mountain by the ski resort. It's rare to have clear skies, but we lucked out and got a great view of Lake Pend Oreille! The boys also had the first snowball fight of the season.

Then, we stopped in Sandpoint on the way home to actually walk by the lake and grab lunch at a local brewery. This was the lake we visited just this summer with my family from Colorado; it was crazy to see it in winter.

The boys loved playing on the playground with no one else there =)

Kellen Jesse was especially close to his namesake. When we had to drop him off at the airport, Kellen started crying and wouldn't even look at Jesse, he was so mad at him for leaving!

Now the boys can't wait to visit Alaska to see all the wild animals and watch Uncle Jesse shoot a gun. It was so great to catch up with him and realize that we were still as close after years apart.
