Well, basketball has ended and baseball has already begun. The whirlwind of kids-in-sports has hit us full force now that both boys are involved in every season and I got a little behind. So, here's the onslaught of pictures.
This was our first year of basketball and the boys really hung in there, especially when it was clear some of the other players had done this before! What was especially fun was the absolute joy they found in dribbling and shooting. For weeks, they constantly begged to go to the park and play basketball. It will be interesting to see what sport rises to become the favorite.
Sawyer was on a Kindergarten team, so he was definitely the youngest. Sometimes it seemed like he was a little lost =) But, as usual, he kept his good spirits and contagious smile.
Some of the shots I caught were hysterical, definitely the learning process in action ... Like trying to catch the ball with eyes closed!
And trying to dribble an errant ball, bouncing crazily down the court.
We were so proud of Sawyer's determination ...
and of course his encouragement of fellow teammates.
Trenton improved greatly over the 8 weeks in defense, shooting practice, and dribbling.
But, it took a few games before he scored and that first game-time hoop was such a thing to see. His face lit up as he ran back down the court and flashed us a thumbs up. It's so exciting to see your kids succeed, even in small ways.
