Finally ... Vacation pictures

Arizona was a whirlwind vacation, only intensified by the presence of a six week old baby. Yet, it was surprisingly smooth; she was a great traveler. And the boys were so excited about going to "Arizonia" that they were on cloud nine the whole time. We went to bed late every night and got up the next day ready for another outing or adventure.

We spent most of our time catching up with family, including nieces and nephews who grow so quickly! My brother Chris and his wife Stephanie have Kynsley who is only seven months older than Elliot. We're so excited for the day they start playing Barbies and dolls together =)

Landon's brother Logan and his wife Marcela drove from San Diego with their kids Camilo and Rocio. This was our first chance to meet Rocio, who just turned two!

Then Leighton, Landon's other brother, came over with his two boys Isaac and Elias. The six boys bonded instantly and spent most of the night swimming or running in circles playing some made-up game. Here's the Anderson grandkids, minus Chelsea's two Charleigh and Weston. We're hoping to get ALL of them together at some point.

As the oldest grandchild, Trenton got a lesson in golf from Grandpa. He is our sports enthusiast, so this was quite the privilege. Plus, he went to a Diamondbacks game with Dad, Grandpa, and Sawyer and shot hoops with Grandpa at Red Mountain Park.

Sawyer, on the other hand, was content to spend his time with the Andersons' 3 dogs, especially Twiggy, the disfigured, bark-less chihuahua. He has such a soft spot for animals.

Kellen was the exact opposite of a social butterfly for most of the trip, refusing to say hi, give hugs, slap high fives, or even look at all the people he had to meet. But in the backyard at Grandpa and Mom Moms, he was all smiles.

Elliot was the charmer. Mom Mom loved watching for her every morning to see what new outfit she had on. Plus, she blessed us with her first smiles.

We also celebrated her first Father's Day while we were there.

(wearing a Daddy's Girl onesie of course!)

It's like she already knows she's the treasured princess of the family.

She'll love visiting AZ one day....

Besides family, our main purpose for visiting was a wedding. One of our closest friends in Mesa had a daughter getting married, who also happened to be our 3 boys' favorite babysitter. She was Trenton's first kiss... by that I mean she had to put up with his wet, sloppy lips on her cheek! Landon was the pastor, Sawyer and Trenton were ring bearers, and Kellen was the dapper younger brother tagging along.

Funny story: I planned on leaving him with Landon's mom, until I saw how clingy he was in his new surroundings. So, after dropping off the participants, Kellen, Elliot, and I dashed to Target where I made him strip in the baby section and try on this outfit to make sure it fit. Then we flew through the shoe aisle for a new pair, threw his old clothes in my purse, and walked to the checkout, decked out and ready to pay. Totally worth the rush; he looked adorable.

In fact, all 3 boys looked like studs.

This is their "oh yeah, we're cool" faces.

For the entire rehearsal dinner, wedding, and day-after pool party, Trenton could not stop talking about Hope, the youngest sister. He wrote in a journal about Hope as his girlfriend and how beautiful she is. When someone asked about her being older, he said no problem, she can get a job and start making money so we can get married. He's got this all planned out. And he proved it when he asked her to dance.

He also showed a whole new side of his personality when he started break dancing in the middle of the dance floor. Later he told us how everyone thought he was such a good dancer and how they circled around to watch him. I couldn't believe the confidence and lack of inhibition. I wonder if it had anything to do with that sip of champagne he conned out of his father... and loved. The "get him to taste it and hate it" trick definitely failed =)

We spent the next day with the family, including the newly married couple, swimming and BBQing. It's a family tradition that I love. The bride and groom get so little time with all the out of town family, so they delay their honeymoon for one day and have a much smaller "after party." Trenton and Sawyer loved having an afternoon of swimming almost as much as they loved spending time with the 3 beautiful Rogerson girls.

Elliot thought it was a little too hot for her comfort.

So we escaped for a time to stroll Target for fun.

The rest of our week can pretty much be summed up with this...

Oh and Trenton finally lost that upper tooth that had been dangling for a couple weeks, prompting screams anytime Landon came near for fear he'd pull it. And in the end he did, but by then Trenton was just excited for the tooth fairy.
