It feels like Sawyer graduated from Kindergarten five minutes ago and already our summer is over. I say "our" because I'm as bummed as the kids that they're going back to school.

June highlights included the Shriner's circus. True to North Idaho it was raining and cold. True to the Anderson kids, they were wearing shorts and t-shirts. Thankfully we had enough time for Mimi to run home for blankets.

Then my summer birthday boy had his party a month early so we could invite school friends. We took them to an hour long nerf gun war and they still had enough energy to run like maniacs around the backyard.

When the warm sun appeared, Mimi and Pops took us for our first boat ride of the year. We cruised over to Carlin Bay for lunch and swimming. The boys could have survived on swimming and chicken nuggets the entire summer if I allowed. And it was tempting.
July, of course, began with fireworks! We started a new tradition that we hope grows into a mini block party for our street. This year our friends the Heastys joined us for $100 of fireworks. "Northern Lights" was the crowd favorite. We saved "High Ballin" for the finale, but even Kellen said "Mom, High Ballin wasn't very high!" Just taking notes for next year when we invite all the neighbors to our "Fourth of July Eve" BBQ :)
Side note: Had to include this, it kills me! His inner self must be a 75 year old hillbilly at a hoedown.
For the actual 4th, we sat on the empty Le Peep patio to watch the fireworks from the resort. No crowds or traffic. Perfect.
Memorable moments in July involved the tooth fairy's visit, summer baseball, and Elliot's 14 month milestone. She's just one of the gang now.

Finally, after waiting a long month from his party to his real birthday, Sawyer turned seven.
As the common favorite, Triple Play Family Fun Center was Sawyer's birthday choice. We went in the afternoon for black light mini golf and arcade games, followed by his favorite homemade dinner...pot roast. Love seeing what they pick each year.
August began with a momentous visit from Grandpa and Mom Mom. The kids had been counting the days since school ended.
We took them to our favorite park and splash pad.
We took them paddleboarding and swimming in Post Falls.
We took them to Landon's favorite local watering hole, Famous Willie's BBQ, for ribs and ribbing from Willy himself.
We took them to Sandpoint for a beautiful view of Lake Pend Oreille and a walk downtown.
We took them to the falls and to see Landon's classroom in Post Falls. They enjoyed seeing where he harasses students daily during the school year.
It was incredibly special to show them our life and loves up here. What a blessing to have family. The boys kept begging to stow away in their suitcases when the weekend ended. Next, pictures from our final hurrah in San Diego and then SCHOOL!
