Summer Vacation!

We spent a week in San Diego for Mimi's 60th birthday. Pops rented a beach house and all 16 members of the extended Kemp family piled under one roof. It was Mom's birthday and they gave us the gift! How special to be together, relaxing on the beach, playing games, telling stories until midnight, meeting Aubrey Elizabeth, the newest munchkin. It was like time stopped. No one had to work and we just caught up on life as a family.

At the beginning of the week, Landon and I took the boys to Legoland. They've wanted to go for years with all the commercials they see on kids' channels!

Sawyer by his favorite animal, made from legos

Kellen and I on the "Safari Trek," while the big boys rode the roller coaster

Our favorite part: the actual set from The Lego Movie

meeting Wyldstyle; the boys had a little crush on her

On the way out, the boys picked their favorite historical figure for a picture: Abraham Lincoln, George Washington (who shares Kellen's birthday!), and Winston Churchill ...

Near the end of the week, the entire family went to Sea World, my favorite attraction in California. Since I was a little girl, I wanted to work there :)

Three boys in a shark jaw ... they were in awe.

And so was their little sister.

The rest of the week was all about the beach, the water, the sand, the waves, the sun.

playing with Kynsley, a girl cousin only 8 months older!

Uncle Josh had as much fun playing in the sand as the little boys.

On our last day, Mimi and Pops surprised us with a jetski rental.

our attempt at family pictures ... not our best effort
but of course it was the last day, so there were no repeats

I could definitely ditch work and school for this life ;-)
