Back to School

Kellen, my preschooler
The kid who repeatedly told me after his first day, "Mom, I'm just so happy I get to go to school." One time he followed it with, "I just wish Trenton and Sawyer were younger so they could be at home and miss me." The trials of the youngest boy.

Showing off the new backpack of choice: Cars. He could almost fit inside it.

Sawyer, my first grader
The kid who wore his Ramsey logo shirt the three days before school because he was so excited to go with Trenton. He loves all the novelties of a new school. Like when the cafeteria lady asked if he was a vegetarian because he kept choosing the veggie tray over main dish for lunch. Nope, just excited that he gets options.

He picked the hot wheels backpack because it actually came with a hot wheel. Smart kid, two for one.

Trenton, my third grader
The kid who told us on the way to open house that he was fine with any teacher except Mrs. Danis. Only to walk in and find out he got Mrs. Danis. He handled it with true composure and that first week assured us that she truly wasn't as mean as he first thought.

Almost too cool for school, but thankfully not for a Monsters Inc backpack.
The single strap was the deciding factor.

Our annual back-to-school picture in the front yard.
Letting all the crazy out.

My heart skips a beat every time I look at this.

While her three older brothers jet off to exciting new adventures, Miss Elliot continues to sparkle and grow. It's all about purses and baby dolls now.

She found her mirror in her purse and stared at herself in awe with a friendly wave.

And I finally captured her newest expression that is always good for a laugh, whether from a family member or a stranger.

I call it her "Scream" mask.

Besides school. we're right in the thick of club soccer and flag football.
Lots of exciting stories and pictures to come.
