Fun Times

I made a goal with the new year (especially in the winter when the kids are inside a lot!) to go on an outing at least once a week. We have a few fun options and I cycle through them, letting the boys pick what they feel like. Last week, with Landon off too, I decided to go to the children's museum in Spokane called Mobius. I had been once with my mom on vacation when Sawyer was a baby. It was so weird to be back with Kellen the baby and Sawyer old enough to run around and do all the activities! We had so much fun. Here were some of the favorites:

Playing music on stage

MUD - what else can I say?!

Playing music again, this time in costumes =)

Cookie monster and a cute little frog

Even Kellen had a blast crawling around the baby section.

After the museum, we went upstairs to Riverpark Square Mall and ate lunch in the food court ... from our lunch boxes =) I packed a lunch for all 5 of us to save money; Landon was not too excited about it. But then as a treat, the boys split a scoop of strawberry ice cream from Ben and Jerry's. They looked so cute sitting together, feet up, enjoying their treat.

The boys liked the museum so much, I decided to go back and put our daily fee towards a year long pass. It was such a good deal - only two more visits and it's paid for!

Ironically, after such a big outing, we happened upon another in the same week. Trenton had a field trip to Skate Plaza for his first chance to try roller skating. The school rented it out for the morning, so it wasn't crowded at all. Landon went with him, while I stayed home with Sawyer and Kellen. Then I got a call, he forgot the $5 to get in. I had to dress and load up the other two to drive there and meet him. I decided if we were there, we might as well go in and watch for awhile. Trenton was so funny when he first put skates on; his legs kept rolling out from under him like a baby deer! I started laughing so hard, I had no strength to hold him up and we both went down (I wasn't even wearing skates!) Someone watching told me to have his skates tightened. I had never heard of that. We went back to the skate rental counter and they tightened his wheels a little so he could still roll, but there was some resistance. He did better after that, but after two circles he asked to be done lol

After snack, we let him take off the skates (like Sawyer, who had been "skating" around in his socks) and the rink brought out bouncy balls and scooters, which I think the kids enjoyed a lot more. I ended up staying the whole time and even let Kellen crawl around the outer edge a little. It was a fun morning.

It's going to be a hard week to top!
